It was formed in 1999 by a group of players who were tired of the limitations instated by the official Sims creators. To date, TSR has 1M+ custom floors, walls, objects, clothing, hair, and make-up to download for The Sims, The Sims 2, The Sims 3, and The Sims 4. As of 2010, the site counts 2.2 million members and about 680k mods. The site was founded by Steve Bonham, Thomas Isacsson, Johan Isacsson, Jan Isacsson, and Mikeal Sundberg. It has daily updates, and has a core group of featured artists, who create some of the most popular and best looking items on the site. All downloads are available for free and registration is not required.
